Bitcoin Pizza Guy: Laszlo Hanyecz on Why Bitcoin is Still the Only Flavor of Crypto for Him

What happened?
Eight years ago, an American programmer Laszlo Hanyecz paid for two pizzas using Bitcoin in what is hailed as the first ever instance that the cryptocurrency was used to pay for physical goods.

Who else took part in that deal?
The transaction did not involve only one person: Jeremy Sturdivant, also known as Jercos, participated in the original Bitcoin pizza deal as the recipient of those 10,000 BTC that he turned into two pizzas. Read more in full interview.

John McAfee Announced His Own Crypto-Backed 'Fiat' Currency

What happened?
John McAfee has publicly confirmed that he will be launching his own crypto-backed fiat currency at the end of June.
What else did he say?
McAfee explained that the MRU, or McAfee Redemption Unit, will be connected to a blockchain by tokens and can be redeemed for up to 100 minutes — depending on the denomination of the note — of personal time with him at a location anywhere in the world.

Binance Seeks 20 Major Partners for its Giant $1 Bln Fund

What happened?
Binance, currently the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trade volume, plans to create a $1 bln cryptocurrency-based fund.
Is everyone welcome to participate?
The fund seeks to onboard only significant heavyweights as partners, requiring at least $100 mln under asset management in order to qualify. Binance
plans on adding a total of twenty such partners.

Wikipedia's Jimmy Wales has told BlockShow conference that the crypto world is "in a bubble" but when it will "pop" is uncertain

What happened?
The second day of the BlockShow Europe 2018 conference kicked off with a keynote speech by Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales.

What did he say?
"...Right now, we are in a bubble, the

Tenth Largest Crypto TRON to Leave Ethereum, Launches Beta Version of Own Blockchain

What happened?
Altcoin TRON, which currently is the tenth largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, has launched a beta version of its independent public blockchain on May 31.
What was its previous network?
The move to Tron's MainNet – also dubbed Odyssey 2.0 – is part of a transition away from the Ethereum blockchain, which currently underpins the cryptocurrency's network.
