John McAfee Announces 2020 Presidential Bid

What happened?
John McAfee, founder of McAfee Antivirus Software and now prominent crypto enthusiast, announced his bid to run for US president in 2020 — a way to serve the crypto community, according to his Twitter account.
What did McAfee say about it?

Japan's Financial Services Giant SBI Launches Crypto Exchange

What is this all about?
Called 'VCTRADE,' the service is now open for the ~20,000 users who pre-registered with the platform in October 2017, with plans to open ordinary account applications in July 2018. Ripple (XRP) is currently the only supported digital currency, though SBI states it will soon support Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) as well.
What is this tech for?
The new trading platform will adopt NASDAQ's transaction system (matching system). Transaction fees will reportedly be zero, although withdrawals will be subject to charges. Get more details here.

How does it work?
Hypothekarbank Lenzburg has become the first bank in Switzerland to provide business accounts to blockchain and cryptocurrency companies. Before accepting a new client, the bank performs a rigorous due diligence process.
What did the bank CEO say about it?
"As a bank that sets itself up technologically and pursues a cooperative strategy in the field of fintech, it is also a matter of credibility to work together with the young sector of crypto and blockchain companies in Switzerland". Read more here.
 

Malta Deserving of Its 'Blockchain Island' Nickname, Said Binance CEO

What happened?
Changpeng Zhao, better known as CZ, the CEO and founder of Binance, revealed the company has set up a bank account in Malta.
How CZ comments this?
CZ told Cointelegraph he hoped fiat-crypto trading on Binance would launch in Malta "within the year," also indicating plans to offer the service in Uganda and potentially Asia as well. Read more in  an exclusive interview.
